Why THE NAME French Windows?

We’re often asked about the history of French windows and whether they actually originate from France… and they do! Specifically, during the 17th century French revolution, which had a specific focus on art and design. This led to a rise in popularity of French windows, which not only let in more light, but provided better views outside. Liniar’s French windows are manufactured from uPVC profiles, bringing all of the modern-day performance benefits of this material.

Wide range of options

The term French window refers to the configuration rather than the type of frame or mechanism, so it can be chosen as a style for any of Liniar’s main window profiles giving you plenty of options.

Maximum functionality

Besides uninterrupted views, being able to open both panes simultaneously with no central bar, means Liniar French windows can also function as a fire escape. See the individual product pages for the lowest U-values each can provide – the lower the number, better the thermal efficiency.
